Farewell To A Master Storyteller: K. Bhagyaraj

Veteran actor, writer, director and producer K. Bhagyaraj passed away on Saturday at the age of 73 due to a cardiac arrest leaving the Indian film industry in mourning.

His death comes just few weeks after the passing of his mentor, Bharathiraja. Bhagyaraj began his career as Bharathiraja’s assistant before becoming one of Indian cinema’s most respected and loved storytellers.

Known for his entertaining and family oriented films he worked across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada cinema.

He directed many memorable movies. Apart from directing he also acted in over 100 films and produced several successful projects.

Even in recent years he remained much active through acting, TV and mentoring very young talent. His legacy will continue to inspire more generations of filmmakers.
